East Coweta, Newnan football fans offered shuttle parking At Lee Middle School, Hunter Athletic Complex

Off-site parking and shuttle buses to Garland Shoemake Stadium will be offered to the East Coweta-Newnan game from two sites on Friday, November 7.

Fans can park at Lee Middle School, on Willis Road, or at the Hunter Athletic Complex, on Georgia Highway 16, Friday evening. Shuttle buses to East Coweta’s Garland Shoemake Stadium will be run regularly from Lee Middle and the Hunter Complex beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Law enforcement officers will provide security at both parking sites. Return shuttle service will be offered from the stadium starting after half-time and continuing throughout the evening.

Tickets to the game are $7, and can be purchased at the parking sites as well as at the gate, to reduce waiting.

Limited parking will be available on the East Coweta campus Friday night, and overflow parking along Georgia Highway 154 and McIntosh Trail will be limited.

East Coweta High School is offering the offsite parking at Lee to improve traffic conditions and to make parking and departure easier for fans. Both schools are urging fans to use the shuttle sites for convenience.

Willis Road is approximately 1 mile north of East Coweta High School’s campus on Georgia Highway 154. Turn east onto Willis Road from the red light on Highway 154, and Lee Middle is approximately ˝-mile on the left.

Coweta County’s Hunter Athletic Complex is located at 2970 East Highway 16, approximately 2 miles east of Highway 16’s intersection with U.S. Highway 29, or ˝-mile west of Highway 16’s intersection with Poplar Road.

The annual rivalry game between the East Coweta Indians and Newnan Cougars is usually the best attended match-up during both teams’ seasons. A special pre-game celebration will take place on the field before Friday’s kick-off, when Atlanta Falcon Keith Brooking – a former Indians player – is honored with a retirement of his “35” Indians jersey.
