Educational Center and other educational and extracurricular
offering will be held at all three Coweta County High Schools
during February.
The first will be held on Friday, February 6, at East Coweta
High School. The events are meant to introduce high school
freshmen, sophomores, and juniors to what is required in
realizing their future career choices, and some of the
career-based and specialized classes available to students while
in high school.The events will
be held during school hours on:
- February 6, at East Coweta High
School
- February 13, at Northgate High
School
- February 26, at Newnan High School
Instructors from CEC will bring
information about their program and high school students will
have the chance to speak with someone about their interests and
future career interests during the morning fairs.
This is the second year CEC has held a showcase of the classes
and post-secondary dual-enrollment classes at CEC. The school’s
Chief Executive Officer Mark Whitlock believes that CEC’s
student count is up 20 percent due to last year’s event.
CEC is a charter school which serves the students of Coweta
County’s three main high schools. The school is a joint venture
among the Coweta County School System, West Central Technical
College (WCTC) and local business and industries.
Not only does CEC provide career–focused classes for high school
students, but West Central Technical College classes at CEC
